Soccer:
Q: What do the Adidas day and overnight camps offer?
A: The opportunity for all players at any level to learn and be challenged by qualified, experienced college coaches and players. Players will be separated based upon their ability and age level and will be coached accordingly. Younger, first time players will receive extra attention and participate in fun and games. Older, more developing players will receive a challenging program combining technical progressions and tactical sessions. All campers will have access to Husson University’s top-class facilities.
Q: What if my child is a goalkeeper?
A: We do offer goalkeeper sessions periodically throughout each day on our Day Camps, which are generally coached by one of our Husson University goalkeeper coaches. Goalkeepers will have plenty of opportunities to compete in goal throughout the week.
Goalkeepers attending our Elite Soccer Camp will receive challenging technical and tactical training sessions each day with one of our knowledgeable coaching staff. Goalkeeper sessions will be independent of field player sessions so that goalkeepers can get the specialized attention required.
Q: My child is entering High School, can they still attend?
A: Yes. Our Day camp offerings are for boys and girls aged 5-15.
High School players would be better suited to our Elite Soccer Camp which is offered to boys and girls aged 12 – 17 years old, and offers both commuter and overnight options.
Q: How good does my child need to be at to attend the Elite Soccer Camp?
A: The Elite Soccer Camp was created for those players who wish to enhance their already established soccer abilities. This camp is geared towards players who have been playing for a number of years and have grasped the concept of the fundamentals of the game. Training sessions will be challenging to allow for development, while also allowing learning for all players and success to take place. Players who are struggling will be provided individual instruction aside from the group until the skill is learned.
Q: If my child is younger than the required age to attend the Elite Soccer Camp?
A: Accommodations may be made for those who are younger than the required age to attend the Elite Soccer Camp. Please e-mail Coach Penny the age of your child, their date of birth, and relevant soccer experience so that a decision can be made. Please do not register for the Elite Soccer Camp if your child is younger than the required age without prior approval from Coach Penny.
Unfortunately we cannot allow anyone older than the required age to attend the Elite Soccer Camp.
Q: What grade should I list when registering?
A: List the upcoming grade your child will be entering when they return to school for the academic year after the summer.
Q: Where are the dorms in relation to the fields?
A: The dorms are located just a short walk to the fields and the cafeteria is centralized between the dorm buildings. Some camps require 1/2 mile or more walks to get to the cafeteria - not this one!!! Our whole camp will take place on campus, therefore participants will only be required to walk 5-minutes to get between facilities. Each dorm room contains a refrigerator and there is free wifi all over campus. Each of our dorm buildings contain vending machines.
Q: What are the sleeping arrangements for participants staying overnight on the Elite Soccer Camp?
A: Males and Females will sleep on separate floors. Male participants shall not enter the Females floor and vice versa. Male floors will be supervised by a Male camp staff member and Female floors will be supervised by a Female camp staff member. Participants are asked to select their preferred roommates during the registration process. This helps us to pick the best possible rooming assignment for each participant.
Registration:
Q: Is there a deadline to register?
A: Acceptance is on a first-come, first-serve basis, due to limited space. The camps do sell out! Register online to reserve your space as soon as possible. Don’t forget, payment is not required until your arrival on campus, therefore you may register and are not required to pay at that time.
Q: Is there a penalty if I register last-minute?
A: No. However, the camps generally do sell out and we cannot guarantee that there will be space available if you try to register last-minute.
Q: What if I need to cancel my registration?
A: If you wish to cancel your registration, you may cancel by contacting the listed contact personnel for the camp. If your notice of cancellation is received more than 10 days prior to the Event, a full-refund less any administrative fees will be provided. Any cancellation received 10 days or fewer before the Event shall result in a refund of any registration fees less administrative fees and a credit toward a future camp. The credit is determined as follows:
- Day Camp: $50 credit for future camp
- Elite Soccer Camp: $150 credit for a future camp
- ID Camp: $50 credit for a future camp
If you cancel your registration but would like to attend future camps, full payment can be awarded as a credit towards future camps.
Q: What is the $25 key deposit?
A: The Office of Special Events at Husson University (rather than the camp itself) requires a $25 key deposit payable upon arrival at camp. It is a Husson University policy and not the policy of the camp. The key deposit is required for overnight campers only. The deposit will be returned at the end of camp as long as your keys are handed in.
Q: What is an acceptable form of payment for the $25 key deposit?
A: Cash or check are acceptable forms of payment for the $25 key deposit and will only be cashed in the event dorm keys are not returned.
Q: Do you offer any Discounts?
A: Yes. We offer a few different discounts.
Husson University faculty and staff will receive a $15 discount on day camps and a $30 discount on the overnight option. Contact Coach Penny for the Promo Code.
Multi-child discount. There will be a $20 discount on each additional child up to a total of 3. Each additional child after 3 will receive a $40 discount.
Multi-camp discount. There will be a $20 discount on each additional camp your child attends.
Medical:
Q: Are there any Medical Forms that need to be completed?
A: No. However, please be sure to notify us in your registration of any and all allergies your child has as well as any and all medication they will have in possession.
Q: Will there be any qualified medical personnel on site?
A: We will have a certified athletic trainer on staff at all of our camps. You may want to remind us of any conditions before camp begins.
Q: What if my son gets injured at camp?
A: Professional athletic trainers are on duty at all times throughout camp hours and hospital services are always available. Emergency contacts will be notified immediately of any such illness or injury. You will be required to pay for any and all external medical treatment necessary. The camp staff assumes no responsibility for accidents or illness. You agree to this when you sign your waiver during registration.
Miscellaneous:
Q: Any free stuff?
A: All summer campers will receive a Husson University Soccer Camp t-shirt and a Gatorade water bottle.
Q: Where will I stay and what are the meal arrangements?
A: Husson University Residence Halls will be used for the overnight options. Dorms are located in close proximity to the fields and the cafeteria. Any meals that are included in the camp will take place in the Dickerman Dining Commons on campus.
Q: What should I bring to camp?
A: Given the time of year it will be very hot with large periods of sun. Please ensure you bring the following items:
Sunscreen
Water Bottle (Provided by Husson University upon arrival at camp)
Soccer cleats (not required) or comfortable shoes that will enable your camper to participate safely without injury
CHANGE OF FOOTWEAR! (Flip Flops/Sandals/Sneakers)
Shin guards, mouth guards, and hats are optional
Bathing Suit, flip flops, towel, and rubber duck
We will have water coolers available for water bottles to be refilled. Please also ensure that everyone brings a change of footwear (Flip Flops/Sandals/Sneakers) to wear when walking around campus and through buildings. As a way to make sure that campers do not forget a change of footwear I typically tell parents to have their campers not wear their cleats on their way to camp and change into them upon arrival. This is usually the reason why kids forget a change of footwear. This is very important because campers cannot wear cleats in the dining commons or the gym. We also ask that you remove any dangling jewelry from each camper to prevent them from being damaged and to ensure each campers safety.
Q: If I am staying overnight what should I bring to camp?
A: Pack according to the schedule.. It will be hot, even after sun down, so pack how much you want to change but try not to over pack. Husson University does not provide linens so the campers are responsible for all linens and toiletries. Note: Dorm beds are Twin XL
Here is a list of mandatory items and suggested items:
All items listed in the previous question
$25 Key deposit for all overnight campers (check is not cashed unless key is lost)

Toiletries
