About:
Operated on the John P. Boucher Soccer Field located in the middle of a 208-acre campus located in Bangor, Maine, Husson University soccer camps are one of the premium choice camps in Maine, offering a great daily camp program, top class facilities, and great coaching staff.
Location:
The John P. Boucher Field, home to our men's & women's soccer and lacrosse programs, was built in 2001 through a generous donation by Husson alumnus John Boucher '66. A $650,000 donation from Mr. Boucher helped support a renovation to make the John P. Boucher Soccer Field one of the finest collegiate fields in New England. Granite and iron fences surround the field and bench enclosures giving the complex that "old world" feel which makes it a very special place to play.
Overview:
Coach Penny's summer soccer camps are exciting and adventurous where players learn so much more than just the game. Themed days and creative challenges will keep all players motivated and involved. If your child is excited about learning the fundamentals of soccer in a fun and inclusive environment, register for a Husson University soccer camp today to ensure your child’s participation. Campers will spend each day with current players and coaching staff from both the men's and women's soccer teams.
The Husson Eagles Adidas Elite Soccer Camp is a developmental based camp where players who have played for a number of years will be put through a series of technical and tactical training sessions to further develop their skills and knowledge. Participants will get the opportunity to work with Husson University’s knowledgeable coaching staff and accomplished players on and off the field. Training sessions will be challenging, but allow the attention and help necessary for participants to learn and understand the vital parts of the game. Each day will consist of a technical/skills based training session, small-sided games and competitions, as well as competitive matches under the lights on our brand new soccer field. While the goal will always be to have fun, the objective of the Husson Eagles Adidas Elite Soccer Camp is to develop the abilities of players who are serious about their futures in soccer.
Husson University ID camps are highly challenging, technical camps where players will be tested and evaluated upon their abilities with a view to transitioning into a collegiate men’s soccer player. Campers will have the opportunity to experience a training session with the current men’s coaching staff. As part of the event, prospective student athletes will spend time with current Husson men’s soccer players as they are toured around campus and then given the opportunity to ask questions in a question and answer session with both current players and staff.
Coach Penny has many years of experience coaching soccer camps at all ages and levels. Note from Coach Penny:
“I look forward to our camps as they have become a large part of our program each and every year. It is a joy to work with everyone that has an interest in our programs. I take a great deal of pleasure from watching players mold and develop their abilities and personalities throughout their time with us. Our number one priority is to ensure that everyone is included and having fun. We create environments and competitions that give everyone a chance to compete and develop. My objective is to meet players at their current ability level and find ways to challenge them in an enjoyable way. Our hope is that through Husson University soccer camps we can establish a foundation or improve already talented players level of play. From the soccer field, to the dinning commons, to the swimming pool, we are blessed to have an incredible institution to support our camps with fantastic facilities.
I have been fortunate enough to have experienced the game of soccer as a player and a coach both in the US and Europe. I have taken in all that I have learned along the way and used it to affect the lives of each and every player I worked with. Whether it be a teammate, a first time player, a developing teen, or my collegiate players, I always make it a priority to make a difference in the lives of players both on and off the field. I can honestly say that I have learned something new every year. From all the places I have been and the different cultures I have worked with, the youth of today are helping me to develop. Each and every player I have worked with has contributed to the structure of our program here at Husson University and the coach that I am today and for that I am very grateful!”
